e The Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has congratulated the publisher, editors and other staff of the SUN Newspaper on the 15 years anniversary of the newspaper title.
In his congratulatory message issued yesterday in Benin City, the Edo State capital, Obaseki noted the phenomenal growth of the newspaper since it hit the newsstand with its unique style of news presentation.
“Since your newspaper hit the newsstand, it has provided a strong voice to millions of Nigerians on a wide range of issues with its unique style of presenting the news.
“I salute your courage and expertise with which you have successfully navigated the turbulent media space in the past decade and half, and I am confident that with the pedigree of your managers, the best of THE SUN is in sight,” he said.
The governor urged the newspaper to “reach for the skies in your commitment to democracy, nation building and the defence of the rights of the ordinary Nigerians.”
